RENUVION SKIN TIGHTENING
Renuvion is a separate, energy-based procedure used beneath the skin for selected skin-tightening goals. At BodyLuxe, it may be considered on its own or alongside liposuction when the written treatment plan identifies both skin-quality and fat-removal concerns. It is never automatically included, and it does not replace a personal examination.

What is Renuvion?
Renuvion, also called J-Plasma, is an energy device used beneath the skin to tighten selected areas of loose tissue. It is a separate procedure with its own suitability, risks, recovery, and price; it is not another name for liposuction or Ellacor.
The exact device handpiece, treatment area, intended use, and whether another procedure is part of the plan matter. A consultation should identify those details rather than relying on a general device name.
Renuvion is not appropriate for every area or every person, and a particular degree of tightening cannot be guaranteed.
What treatment can and cannot change

It does not remove fat
Liposuction removes localized fat. If fat removal and skin tightening are both planned, your written plan names both procedures and explains what each one is intended to do.
It does not promise
A specific amount of tightening, a particular contour, permanent change, or freedom from additional treatment.
Renuvion alone or alongside liposuction
Renuvion may be discussed as a standalone skin-tightening procedure when the evaluated concern and intended use support that plan. It may also be discussed after or alongside liposuction when the plan separately addresses fat removal and skin contraction.

- Alongside liposuction: liposuction addresses selected fat, while Renuvion remains a distinct skin-tightening component.

How Renuvion differs from fat removal and Ellacor
Liposuction

Ellacor

How treatment is planned

No body area, package, or marketing message should make Renuvion automatic. The final plan belongs to the clinical evaluation and consent process.
Recovery and follow-up
Recovery varies with the area treated, the extent of treatment, individual healing, and whether Renuvion is performed alone or with liposuction. A combined procedure can have different instructions from a standalone treatment.
Dr. Farrugia should provide the activity, garment, wound-care, medication, and follow-up instructions that apply to the exact plan. Contact the clinical team promptly about symptoms or concerns identified in those instructions.
No return-to-work day or final-result date is promised. Early appearance is not the final result, and follow-up is part of evaluating healing and change over time.
Risks and safety discussion
Renuvion is an energy-based medical-device procedure, not a risk-free cosmetic service. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends discussing the benefits and risks of available aesthetic skin procedures and asking which device will be used.
The FDA has reported serious adverse events with aesthetic uses of Renuvion/J-Plasma, including burns, infection, skin-color changes, scarring, nerve damage, significant bleeding, and gas accumulation under the skin, in body cavities, or in blood vessels. Exact risks depend on the device, intended use, treatment area, technique, and individual plan.

Is Renuvion the same as liposuction?
No. Liposuction removes selected subcutaneous fat. Renuvion is a separate, device-led skin-tightening procedure. If both are planned, each should be identified separately.
Can Renuvion be considered without liposuction?
