REFINE THE UPPER ARMS

Arm liposuction in Chicago at BodyLuxe focuses on the upper-arm fullness you would like to change. Using targeted FormSculpt with tumescent local anesthesia, Dr. Farrugia can reduce localized fat and refine the contour from shoulder toward elbow. Your consultation starts with your goals, how your arms look and feel in clothing, and the change that fits your frame.

Arm liposuction at a glance

  • Goal: reduce localized upper-arm fullness.

How arm liposuction creates a more balanced contour

Arm liposuction reduces selected fat beneath the skin to refine the upper arm from shoulder toward elbow. Both arms are assessed together so the result fits your shoulders, torso, and natural proportions.

At BodyLuxe, the arms are treated with targeted FormSculpt liposuction using tumescent local anesthesia. If armpit or front-bra-roll fullness also bothers you, bring it up during your consultation so Dr. Farrugia can assess it alongside your arms and include any additional treatment in your quote.

What arm liposuction can change

The goal is a more refined upper-arm contour when localized fat is a meaningful part of the concern. The examination separates fullness caused by fat from loose skin, muscle shape, and natural asymmetry.

Refining localized fullness

Selected fat can be reduced to smooth the upper-arm outline and improve the transition from shoulder toward elbow.

How skin quality shapes the result

Skin with good recoil may settle more smoothly after fat removal. When loose skin is the main concern, Dr. Farrugia will explain whether another approach is more likely to create the change you want.

Matching treatment to your anatomy

Previous scarring, skin laxity, and adjacent bra-roll fullness can change the plan. These details are assessed together so treatment fits the full shoulder-to-torso contour.

Who tends to benefit from arm liposuction?

Arm liposuction may fit when pinchable fat is the main source of upper-arm fullness and the skin is likely to adapt reasonably after fat removal. Skin laxity, prior weight change, scars, muscle shape, asymmetry, and adjacent armpit or bra-roll fullness all influence the plan. More substantial loose skin may require a different approach.

It may fit your goals when

  • Localized upper-arm fat remains a concern while your health and weight are stable.
  • Fullness from fat is the primary concern and your skin has enough elasticity to adapt after contouring.
  • You want an individualized improvement and understand that one arm, both arms, or staged treatment may be considered based on your anatomy.

A different approach may make more sense when

  • Loose skin or another structural concern contributes more to the appearance than fat.
  • Your health, medications, nicotine exposure, prior procedures, scarring, or proposed treatment extent changes what is appropriate for you.
  • Your primary goal is weight loss, substantial skin removal, or another change that liposuction alone cannot provide.

How BodyLuxe plans arm contouring

Dr. Farrugia marks the treatment zone with attention to the inner and outer arm and how the arm transitions into the shoulder and torso. Tumescent local anesthesia is used, and patients typically remain awake and able to communicate. Your plan will make clear whether adjacent front bra-roll or armpit contouring is included.

Dr. Farrugia personally evaluates you, marks the treatment area, and performs the liposuction. The BodyLuxe nursing team supports preparation, comfort, and aftercare, and Dr. Farrugia remains involved through follow-up.

What arm-liposuction recovery involves

Swelling, bruising, soreness, firmness, and temporary numbness can occur. Compression, lifting limits, work, and exercise are individualized. The arms may look uneven while swelling changes from side to side; the contour becomes more reliable to judge as healing progresses.

Your written instructions cover compression, access-site care, lifting, work, exercise, and follow-up. The arms may settle at slightly different rates while swelling changes.

The contour becomes easier to evaluate as swelling resolves, commonly around three to six months, and may continue refining longer. Individual results vary.

Risks and limitations to understand

Expected early effects can include soreness, bruising, swelling, drainage, firmness, temporary numbness, and contour changes caused by swelling.

Important risks include bleeding or fluid collection, infection, prolonged swelling, altered sensation, asymmetry, contour irregularity, loose or uneven skin, healing problems, medication or anesthesia complications, and possible revision. Liposuction reduces accessible fat but does not remove a large amount of excess skin or guarantee a particular degree of arm definition.

Before you decide, Dr. Farrugia explains the risks most relevant to your health and treatment extent, alternatives, warning signs, and the follow-up plan. For additional general education, see the American Society of Plastic Surgeons guide to liposuction.

Personalized pricing and financing

Pricing is based on the treatment area, anatomy, BMI, and other planning factors. After consultation, your written quote explains exactly what is included.

Eligible clients may use Cherry Payments or CareCredit to pay over two years with zero interest. Terms apply.

Arm liposuction FAQs

Can arm liposuction help me lose weight?

No. It is a contouring procedure for localized fat rather than a treatment for overall weight loss.

Will I be awake during treatment?

Yes. Tumescent local anesthesia numbs the treatment area while you remain awake and able to communicate; medication may be used for comfort when appropriate. Our awake liposuction guide explains the anesthesia experience in more detail.

Are the arms part of FormSculpt 360?

The arms are a separate targeted treatment. FormSculpt 360 Lipo addresses connected midsection areas. If both interest you, your consultation can explore how they fit into an individualized plan.

What if loose skin is part of my concern?

Dr. Farrugia assesses your skin as well as the fat beneath it. The skin may adapt after fat removal, but the amount of contraction varies. You can also discuss skin-tightening options such as Renuvion and whether a different approach would better address loose skin.

Can both arms be treated?

Arm contouring is planned bilaterally, while the exact treatment extent is documented in your written plan.

When might I return to work?

Desk-based work may be possible within several days to about a week, while physical work or a larger combined plan can require more time. Your instructions are individualized.

When will I have a clearer sense of my result?

The contour is commonly easier to assess around three to six months and may continue refining longer. Individual results vary.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing varies with the treatment area, anatomy, BMI, and other factors evaluated during consultation. You receive a written quote after your individualized assessment.
