Oral Wegovy (semaglutide) tablets are now here. The FDA approved the once‑daily Wegovy pill in late 2025, and as of early January 2026 it’s broadly available in the U.S., marking the first time this GLP‑1 weight‑loss therapy is offered in oral form rather than injectable only. The product launched with multiple dose strengths and is being stocked through major pharmacy channels and telehealth partners. Clinical evidence shows weight loss but warns of rebound after stopping. A January 2026 BMJ systematic review and meta‑analysis of nearly 9,400 patients found that after stopping GLP‑1 or similar obesity meds, weight tends to return toward baseline over about 1.5–1.7 years, with regain often faster than after behavioural weight‑loss efforts. Cardiometabolic benefits such as improved blood pressure and lipids also trend back to pre‑treatment levels within roughly two years of discontinuation.
